Android TV and Google TV (its newer interface layer, found on Chromecast with Google TV and many 2022+ Smart TVs) have one big advantage over Firestick: the Google Play Store is built in, so most IPTV apps install directly โ no sideloading required.
Step 1: Find Your IPTV App in the Play Store
From the Android TV or Google TV home screen, open the Google Play Store app and search for your preferred IPTV player โ IPTV Smarters Pro and TiviMate are both available directly, no sideloading needed.
- Select the app, click Install, and wait for it to download.
- Open the app once installation finishes.
Step 2: Add Your MoviesFlix Playlist
When you first open your IPTV player, you'll be asked how you'd like to add a playlist. Choose Xtream Codes API (sometimes labeled "Login with Xtream Codes" or "M3U Xtream").
- Enter the Server URL, Username, and Password from your MoviesFlix activation message.
- Use your on-screen remote or a connected keyboard/mouse to make typing faster โ Android TV supports both.
- Confirm, and give the app a moment to sync your channels and VOD library.
If Your App Isn't in the Play Store
Some IPTV apps (like OTT Navigator in certain regions) aren't listed in every country's Play Store. In that case, you can sideload the APK the same way as on Firestick:
- Enable Settings โ Device Preferences โ About โ Build (click 7 times) to unlock developer options, if not already visible.
- Under Settings โ Apps โ Security & Restrictions, turn on Unknown Sources for your file manager or browser.
- Install a file manager like Downloader or X-plore from the Play Store, and use it to download and install the APK directly.
Optimizing Playback on Android TV
- Connect via Ethernet where possible โ it's more stable than Wi-Fi for 4K streams.
- In your IPTV app's settings, set the video player to ExoPlayer (default on most apps) for the best hardware-accelerated performance.
- If you experience stuttering on 4K channels, try switching to the HD or FHD version of the same channel where available.
